About Promise of Youth Heritage Studio

I first became interested in my family history at a very young age. Growing up with two sets of great-grandparents, and even a great-great aunt, I had the unique opportunity to listen to their stories. They often spoke in their native language, with someone nearby translating for the younger generation. I remember sitting quietly, wondering what they were sharing and how those stories connected us across generations. I wish I had been older and able to record those conversations to treasure forever.

Years later, I had the chance to interview my grandparents and each of their children. I asked them about their younger years and the moments they remembered most about time spent with family. These conversations became part of a family history video I created, blending their voices with related photos to narrate the journey of our ancestors, including their immigration and the hardships they overcame.

What my grandparents didn’t know was that I had a surprise in the works. During a Family Christmas gathering, I presented the video as a gift. As we all sat around watching the 45-minute video, their voices filled the room—parents, grandparents... their voices and memories came alive. Each generation was glued to the screen, listening and learning from the stories shared in their own voices. Tears welled up as the family came together to experience our shared history. It was a moment that continues to be talked about, and I realized how powerful it was to preserve and share these stories.

That experience sparked my deep desire to help other families do the same.  I’m excited to offer my skills, passion, and expertise to families who want to preserve their own histories, create heirlooms, and connect across generations. Whether it’s interviewing family members, digitizing photos, I’m here to help your family preserve the stories that matter most.
